The Contestants

Meet our Season EIGHT Contestants!  You can get to their Win, Lose, or Blog personal blogs by clicking on their names above their pictures or in our right hand side bar. Lets all root on and support these wonderful ladies in the next seven weeks.

Catherine
Hello, I’m Catherine!  I participated in season six of Win, Lose, or Blog.  I got incredibly motivated to change my life and lost 11 pounds!  Unfortunately, once the accountability disappeared, so did my focus.  It was a slow decline, but I fell back into terrible eating habits and lost the “I can do this!” mentality.  The cycle of negative emotions and binging returned.  In the nine months since the end of my season, I have gained back all of my weight (plus four pounds!).  One night, while out walking, I wished for a second chance on WLB.  Imagine my surprise when I saw the experience opened up to former contestants!  I am starting this season with immense gratitude for the second chance.  Please join me on my WLB blog - - I talk about food, fashion, motivation, and my personal journey.

Jessica H.
Hi, I'm Jessica! I'm 24 years old, married and the main writer of Jersha & Dup. I love computers and technology and plan on attending Western Governor's University to obtain a degree in Information Technology. My hobbies are photography, blogging, thrift store shopping, and playing games (computer, board, video and card games). I have been overweight for most of my life and although I've tried to lose weight in the past, something has always thrown me off. I hope that this time will be different because I am determined and I am laying it all out there for the world to cheer me on and keep me accountable. I look forward to sharing my journey on Win, Lose or Blog and can't wait to meet all of the readers and other contestants.

Jen
I married Randy almost 5 years ago - he is the love of my life and I am so glad that I get the honor of spending every day with him.  We have 3 beautiful little boys between ages 10 months and 4 years old.  They are a joy.  I am blessed to be a "stay a home" mom, even when I am working.  I am diabetic and this effects a lot of what I do every day.  I have set a goal of losing 34 pounds i my 34th year of life (that is this year).  It will help with my disease and all of the complications that go along with it.  I am so excited to be part of Win, Lose, or Blog and I believe it will be just the kick I need to help keep myself on track with reaching my goals.  Thank you to everyone who is supporting me in this effort!

Rachel
Hi! My name is Rachel. I am 33 years old. I am happily married to my best friend Bill, and we have 3 beautiful blessings, otherwise known as our children. Our oldest, Rebecca,  is almost 6 years old and just started Kindergarten. Jacob is a rambucios almost 3 year old who is very active and loves to play and sing. Baby Benjamin is our sweet 4 month old baby boy who is growing so big so fast. I am also mom to an Angel, Travis, who was born silently into Heaven in 2008. I am currently a team leader in an after school care program, but I have also been a teacher and an in home tutor in the past 10 years. As far as me physically, I have always been slightly to very overweight (I don't have any idea of what I weighed in high school because I refused to step on a scale). I have done most diets imaginable only to lose the weight then gain it back and more. I have known deep down that things need to change. I got a wake up call this past year when I had a very difficult pregnancy with Baby Ben, and I had 3 women in my life diagnosed with 3 different types of cancer. My mom was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and 2 close friends were diagnosed with ovarian and breast cancers respectively. Thinking about the struggles I had with my pregnancy and the battles that these women have been and are facing, I realized that if that was me, I would be in no shape physically to fight those battles if they were to come into my life. It was my wake up call. I need to get healthy. I need to do this for me as well as for my children and my husband. I want to be able to keep up with my kids. I want to be able to keep up with the kids that are in the after school care program that I help run (we have anywhere from 20-40 kids afterschool each day). I want to be a great example for my kids and for my family. I need to do this. I need to become the best me and hopefully I will succeed.

Hi my name is Jenna, I can't tell you how excited I am to be apart of the season 8 contestants in Win, Lose or Blog! I am married to my best friend Devon and have 3 amazing children, Brynn who would have been 3 in November, Paizlee who is 18 months old and Karston who is 3 months old! After Brynn passed away needless to say from the depression and stress I've added a few extra pounds! After a wake up call that I had I decided I needed to get my life in control and get the extra weight that I have off so I can be the best person I can be for myself as well as my family. I enjoy the great outdoors, gardening, sewing and crocheting. Please join me on my WLB page to cheer me on. Good luck everyone!!!!

6 months until the big 4-0! *breaks out in a cold sweat* I'm Donna and I participated in season 3 of Win, Lose or Blog and lost 6 pounds. My weight loss came to a standstill afterwards. I completed a round of P90X since then (dropped 2 sizes but lost no weight) and then during my annual pap smear in late 2011, my doctor felt an obstruction. Tests later revealed I had a complex ovarian cyst the size of a baby's head on the left ovary. Fortunately, no cancer was found but my left ovary couldn't be saved. I had to take off from work (I'm a college professor) to recuperate from surgery and gradually got back on the exercise wagon. But my eating habits continue to weigh me down, literally. With a major milestone birthday on the horizon, I am grateful to be able to participate in the Win, Lose or Blog contest again because I need the accountability and motivation to drop the remaining 25lbs I want to lose in time for my "Fabulous at 40" birthday party in March!

Hi!  I’m Jessica.  I’m 33 years old, married to the love of my life, have four children (3 boys – one of which is a teenager {{sigh}} – and 1 girl) and work a full time job.  I blog (at My World Made By Hand), I craft, I bake, I DIY, and I stay pretty busy with my kids activities, especially my oldest sons competition football team. AND I use all of the above as an excuse!  An excuse not to work out…not to eat healthy…not to take care of myself…cause, well, ya know, I just don’t have the time.  If I was one of those people who could eat whatever they wanted and stay skinny these excuses wouldn’t matter…but I’m not.  I have struggled with weight since my son was born 13 years ago.  My pants would get tight and I’d do something about it…then my pants would get tight and I’d do something about it again.  But this time it went too far.  This time, I had to buy new pants and when I stepped onto the scale I found myself blurting out a few ‘bleep’ worthy words and then I cried!  I weighed in heavier than I’d ever been…yes, EVER BEEN…even when I was 9 months pregnant with a 9 pound baby!  After wiping my tears away I vowed to never use an excuse ever again!  So…here I am.  In the last 11 weeks I have shed 16.6 pounds and I don’t intend to stop until every ounce of extra weight is gone and this time, it will stay off!  I hope you join me on my WLB blog where I plan on sharing all sorts of tidbits about food, exercise, motivation and of course, my progress (the ups and the downs).  I’m so excited to continue my ‘getting healthy’ journey and can’t wait to share it with you…

Hi, I’m Deborah! I’m a twenty-something wife and mother of two. I was lucky enough to participate in a past season of Win, Lose, Blog; I had an awesome experience and lost lots of pounds and inches! But life happens and a year later I’ve found myself back where I started-not where I want to be! I’m thrilled to be a part of this competition again and look forward to making some positive, and permanent, life changes!
